Best all around load .257 Roberts

I'm just curious but why the 257 Bob after shooting a 25-06 for years? Just to try something different? Both good just curious. Dan.

110 gr. Nosler AccuBond That bullet would be fantastic in the 257 Roberts I feel. I sure love the AccuBond and in the 257 Roberts you would be able to load it to good velocitys. The Accubonds have been easy to load for in a 25-06 that was my wifes, my 30-06, and my 280AI. According to the Nosler book 2800 fps to 2900 fps + is attainable. I think you will like the 257 Roberts with that bullet for all the hunting you will do with it. I would not hesitate to shoot an elk with that bullet in the 257 Roberts either.

Here is the AccuBond, Partition, and E-tip shot into water jugs at 400 yards out of my 6mm Remington. All penetrated, expanded, and retained weight very well. Come to think about it, the 100 gr. Nosler E-tip in the 257 Roberts would also work well for all hunting and it too certainly would kill an elk. My son shot his first elk, a large cow at 350 yards one shot with his 6mm Remington shooting a 90 gr. E-tip. She staggered 20 yards and tipped over.

Yeah that’s it. I have fooled around with .25-20, .25-35, .250-3000, .25-06 and .257 Weatherby Rifles. Its time I tried the Roberts!!

There is some 110gr AccuBond seconds on Nosler right now. Just ordered a few more and some 100gr Partitions to try in my 257 Robert’s

Accurate as all get out from my 1:10 twist 25-06, and 3200+ fps... Haven't yet shot game with them.

Been looking for pics of my mom with her deer and elk she shot with her 257/120 gr. Bullets. Those appear to be lost. My 257 loves 100 gr Ballistic tips. H 380 or 4350 seem to be well balanced in the rifle. Works just fine on Antelope

Nice Buck and rifle! 110AB's gotta be a great choice for for the "Bob" if you have an Elk tag. I've got some old 100gr PT's that might work well to. You've had experience with the 250 so you know how the 100gr BT's work. Keep us apprised. CL

use to hunt with a 25 WSSM alot, saw the exact same results with with the 110 AccuBond as the 115 gr. BT, and will say this afteer taking hundreds of deer, there is no better whitetail bullet than the 115 BT at 3000 fps.

I haven't taken hundreds of deer, but the 115 Ballistic Tip from my 25-06 sure worked out well. I think Nosler has this .257" hunting bullet thing figured out pretty well. I wonder if they'll ever dive into the longer 130+ grain .257" arena? I've sure thought about a fast twist 25-06 or 257 Wby to shoot 130+ grain bullets.
