Five us were hog hunting last weekend south of Utopia, Texas. We had a first for all of us. We were "running & gunning" hogs in the lower pastures after dark with the spotlight. Matt shot a big 250+ pound boar. The boar went down. The boar got up, wounded and PO'd. It then proceeded to charge the side of the truck full-speed. You can see the impact damage and the scrapes from the tusks. After ramming the truck, it took off toward the high grass and the river. Matt put another round in him before he hit the brush. We waited until morning to go find him, not wanting to track a big wounded and angry boar into the waist high brush at night. We found him 20 yards from the river. We ended up taking 10 hogs.

That would definitely get your attention. Good harvest, and undoubtedly a ton of fun.

Bob,

That is quite an adventure! Congratulations on the hogs. Just in time for a July 4th pork BBQ!

Vengeful beast they can be, as it sounds. I haven't hunted them, but would like to some day. Congrats on the fun!

That pig had a lot of heart! You came across warrior hog - and he lost. What a story that is. Cool hunt.
