a lot of hens lay large double yolk eggs when they begin their laying cycle, the guy I get doubles from has 3 layer houses that he raises layers to furnish eggs to the hatchery, he gets the chickens at about 13 weeks, a few weeks later they start laying, he gets several hundred a day for the first few weeks then they taper off, when the layers go a year later he gets maybe 8-10 a day. He gives me all I want when he has them.
