Bison Hunt

There's a fellow not far from my place who raises bison and sells the meat.

He's let a couple of guys shoot their own, one is a buddy of mine. He used a .338 Lapua, and said it turned out to be more of a hunt than he'd anticipated. No fences where this happened. Apparently the buff decided to leave the area prior to the shot being taken, and a merry chase ensued!

His daughter wants to shoot the next one for them - she wanted to use a .50 BMG, but he's got her talked into the .338 Lapua again. Good thing, since he sold the .50 a while back.

Am thinking this is something I'll do with my .375 someday, if I can figure out what to do with all that meat! My buddy split his bison four ways, with the provision that he got to do the shooting.

That exactly what I've been told about my hunt. Catch them early in the morning make a precise shot, and be ready to quickly send another if it takes to running.

Guy I hunt with have belly crawled for yards just to get close enough not to spook the herd.

Doing mine while I'm heathly enough to enjoy. Taking my two sons as videographers
