Well after doing alot of home work on this one, I booked a fall bear hunt in one of Ontario's finest areas and it's only 2.5 hours north east of my house  ..I found this outfitter through a friend of mine who knows a popular outdoor writer that also hunts there 8) ..He doe's all his advertising by word of mouth, and has been in operation for the last 36yrs. I've also contacted many of his clients, both in Ontario and the USA, and they all said he's a first class man, and has a first class operation, I've done alot of Bear hunting in the late 90's and have had great success, heck for $500 plus accomadation, I can't go wrong :)

Lou,

Congratulations on booking a fall black bear hunt.
Looks like you are on your way to getting a nice rug!
Sounds like a job for the 375 H&H. ;)

It sounds like it could be a great deal, I know that you will let us know how it goes.

Lou, I am glad that you are going to get a chance to use the 375 Hurt & Hurt  that is a great calibre!!!
Remember shoot straight, have fun & be SAFE :)

Blessings,
Dan

Good luck Lou, hope you have a great time there the 375 will work of course but the 7mm RM must be screaming for it's first kill

I've taken a fair share of moose with a 7 RM and a 160 grain pill. Yeah, it'll do.

For sure Mike :) ..heck, you know as well as I do that moose are very easy to kill, any bullet is only as good as the shooter is, I'd even down load to a 140gr Partition, and still have to worries pal  ..yup

Lou,

Please forgive my rudeness but I would love to hunt bears one day too so I hope you will allow me the favor of this question.

Did you leave a zero out of your original price or is that the price? I'm assuming there's more to it than that and if not where can I get in touch with this bloke to book a hunt? Obviously I can't do it this year but I would like to make plans for the future. 2016 is looking like a bear year for me.

Thank you for your time and best of luck on your hunt.

Hi Vince, yes $500 for the hunt ($100 deposit, and the balance due at the time of the hunt) with a guide as well, plus $35/day for accomadation. Norm gives you the choice of hunting from a ground blind, or tree stand. He runs between 75-100 baits in total, and only uses the ones that are most active. If you like, shoot me a PM with any questions you may have in regards to this matter, I well also provide you with his phone # as well.
Take care for now,
Lou

Someday I want to hunt bear by baiting.

And someday I'd like to follow the hounds after a bear!

Both are illegal in Washington, so I'd have to do that elsewhere. Idaho is still good for baiting I understand.

Best of luck on your hunt! Enjoy!

Vince, we need to get a few of you fellows from the States to come up to Ontario, and a few of us western fellows will meet you there for a black bear hunt. Now, that would be a wild time.

Guy, you would love it pal!..Your watching the bait oh maybe 50yds away, and all is quiet, you just turn your head for about a second or two, and then look back at the bait, and walla, there's a bruin right on your bait 8) ...you never hear them come in, they just appear like magic!..It's pretty exciting for sure :)

Lou

Lou and Mike,

Let me look at how things are coming together after this year's deer season and I'll be getting in touch.
