Boyds stocks

I have my Marlin XS7 243 in a Boyd's Prairie Hunter stock. Drop-in fit, all I did was a little sanding in the barrel channel to make sure it wasn't touching anywhere. I've seen a few other rifles in their stocks, as well. Seem to be well made, just a little heavy for the laminates.

I have a few Boyds on rifles. They do require a little fitting as I found out. The one on my Marlin X7 was tight down the right side of the barrel channel needed some sanding. That stock has been reworked after I changed barrels out. Barrel channel opened up more for the Sendero profile and pillars installed then fully bedded. I bought a used Savage that came with one , added pillars and bed also.
Last year I put my son’s 6mm Creed in a AT1 , he ordered it with the pillars already installed. I bedded the recoil lug and cleaned up the barrel channel.
Boyds made a stock for some Weatherbys and I found a take off for my 375 Wby , didn’t hold up well. I did manage to repair it and it’s waiting for a long action Vanguard with less recoil someday.

I’ve used two and both required a little sanding, one was cut a tiny bit too shallow and the mag wouldn’t seat all the way without a good slap, but pillar bedding, which I was going to do anyway, cured the issue. That said I would use another.

Ordered the "Heritage" for my 6.5 Creed Bergara. Looks good. Fits me well. I ordered it with the pillars installed and a Pachmayer Decelerator pad. Just popped my Bergara in it, torqued it down and everything fit great.

For my Marlin 1895 I had to do a little fitting to get the XX walnut stocks from Boyds to fit properly, but they were pretty close from the factory.

I have an At-one for Ruger Americans I've had it on a couple rifles with no fit issues but its pretty blocky/squared off, works fine at the range but not too comfortable for hunting.
I had it on a predator in 260, now its on the 556 ranch
Couple old pics, I did make my own trigger guard

If you want close-up photos of any area's let me know

Agree - I've tried that AT-One - not my favorite. Very sharp edges, squared off styling. The adjustable comb and adjustable length of pull are pretty good.

thanks Fellas , I can deal with a little sanding , or whittle a little something . I didn't want to get into a bunch of altering that would require a mill or something major like that . this stock will be put on my grandson's 22 rimfire . 98% of the time it will be used at the range . I need something rigid to be able to shoot off a bipod . I think the squared off style will probably be a plus , for use with a bipod and sandbags . with the adjustments the stock can be quickly made to fit him in different shooting positions . thanks again , I appreciate the info .

I have a bunch of them for various Rugers. Expect a little custom fitting. I would prefer a little sand to fit instead of the Mattel Toy company stocks that seem to be prewarped from the factory. They will make a good rifle great.

If you are doing more than sanding on a laminate stock, just be careful as they are notorious for producing slivers and splinters...many stockmakers don't like working on laminate stocks for this reason.
