So here's my rifle I carried around in the bushveld of Africa back in 2005 while in Zimbabwe. Light enough to carry all day and swings like a fine shotgun, yet will put down any Game Animal on Earth with one well place head shot. As they used to say "break the broom stick" across the eyes, or the classic side on shot behind the ear...... they will buckle under the arms of a man that knows his place in life.

For me I loved where I was and with my friends from another Country I hold dear to my heart, I'm glad to have known them all. I dreamed big and won..... I only wish to go back someday soon enough and find my close brothers I left too soon!

A few years back when I got my .375 Number One, there was another .375 on the rack. A used BRNO. Really nice rifle, it just wasn't what I wanted. Called my buddy about it, he came and bought it.... For $400!

It's a shooter too. I'll bet this .458 Lott shoots great too. Not sure I'd want to touch it off myself. That whole class of .45 cal belted mags hurling 500 gr bullets at 2,000+ fps have pretty stout recoil, more than I enjoy.

Good looking rifle!

Guy it's like this-the more you shoot it the more you enjoy it..... other then the four dollars going out the barrel! This one loves the 500 grain African Grand Slams.

Ever think you like it more, 'cause it knocks you silly?

Seriously, I've shot the .458 Win mag, and the .450 Ackley (very similar to the Lott) and although I can handle them with reasonable accuracy.... It's NOT something I enjoyed.

The .375 is a piece of cake compared to those true big bore stopping rifles!

Nice Classic rifle. I hope it will again return to Africa...

Thanks RM,

I've read your post about your hunts throughout Africa and suggestions to others, and all I have to say is you and I are a lot alike about what it means to hunt!

When I went to Africa I went to work in the industry so I could actually experience Africa, not just visit it and be spoon fed it like in a can. I loved that place with my whole heart, I never wanted to leave. I only left to maybe start a family and not being too happy with my bosses view on various things and among other things becoming sick from the lack of potable drinking water in camp.

It would be great to enjoy a few weeks in the African bush with you while on your travels hunting. It brings me to a place I have always been drawn to my whole life. I wish I could travel about Africa like the old days, camping along the way and on my own time with friends that enjoy it as much as I do.

The friends I made while their were dear friends. I only wish I never left so soon, I might still be there today?

Best wishes to you, and thanks.

That's a beautiful rifle. Looks like a serious rifle for hunting! Thank you for posting the picture!
