Well I got my buck the other day. The only one I saw which was a spike. Shot was at about 45 yards in the timber. Right behind the shoulder classic double lung. I used my 257 Bee with 110 AB at 3520 fps. Nice entrance and 2" exit. Soup in between. Even at 3500 fps these things work well.

Congratulations, Fotis. Was this a whitetail or a mule deer? I honestly don't know what hangs around Cheyenne, having never hunted there.

Fotis,

Congratulations on the buck.
Spike Horn Steak is good.

Where I was hunting it was strictly mule deer. On the way up to the mountain it was all whitetail.

Nice job! I passed on a few little ones and ended up eating a tag. I bet yours eats a lot better.

Those are some great photos that give us an idea of the terrain. Thanks for posting them.

Love the wild turkeys walking 10 yards in front of the truck!

Thank you Doc!

I do enjoy seeing the turkeys. I've only seen turkeys up here once. I imagine they escaped from someone's pen, but they were acting just like wild turkeys. I actually saw pheasant on one occasion. Again, I knew they had escaped from a pen. I doubt that either flock survived the winter. Still, it was interesting just to see them.

Fotis,
Just the view alone is priceless. The spike is the cherry on the ice cream.
