buck vs. coyotes

Borrowed this photo from another site. Apparently taken recently in Yellowstone. The two coyotes were trying to take on a mature mulie buck and went away hungry, but not for lack of trying.

When I was a kid, people told me that yotes didn't prey on deer. They were wrong. I'm pretty big on smacking a few yotes every winter, to do my part for the local deer herd. Not that I have anything against the yotes making a living, but hey - those are MY deer they're messing with! :grin:

Yep, just like wolves only kill the weak and sick. :x The only good ones are on a stretching rack.
