Building a 260

Just put the Manners EH2 on my .260.... it weighed 26oz with the mini-chassis. I really like the grip, and the finish.....

Rifle liked it too....

Very nice. That would put a smile even on Harry Reid's face. Ouch!

It will diffinently get the job done. 8)
These little none magnum rounds will surely do what is needed when asked.
So where is the New 26 Nosler :!:

That does look very nice, Mcmillan better sit up and notice the Manners seem to be every bit as good.

Manners customer service is awesome too. I bought this stock second hand, and had a couple questions on it. Tom Manners took better than a half an hour out of his day to walk me through the stock, and help me with the small mods. At one point, he even offered to swap the stock out for a new one.... at no cost to me. Keep in mind, I'm not even the origin owner... and this stock was I inletted for a Stiller, not a Rem. 700....

I'm very impressed with the stock and the company.... I will buy more of their stocks for sure.

Thanks Scotty.... it's pretty much a compilation of all the super cool rifle stuff I had around the house.... all stuck in one rifle.

That kind of customer service will get you noticed especially when they are putting out an excellent product.

Yep.... they'll re-paint any of their stocks for free... all you have to do is pay shipping.

Can't wait to get a little blood on this one. It's headed to Washington in two weeks for the WSPHA Coyote Tournament. Was shooting dope out to 1/2 mile yesterday... in a 10 mph wind.... in anticipation of those Pallouse breezes....

The Manners looks good and is worth looking at. I think that one was just coming out when I ordered my Brown.
I shoot the Amax's in my 308 which does very well with them. When I can find the 123's I'll pick up some to have on hand.
UPS messed up my shipment with the paint. It was on the truck to be delivered on Thursday by end of the day. Nada. It didn't start snowing here until close to 5 pm. As of 8 pm, nothing was listed on the tracking. The next day it showed as exception due to the weather. BS on their excuse.

Very nice rifle SD! That looks like a perfect rifle for your neck of the woods. Love those 6.5's.

Finished painting the stock and got it together. I wanted to get a darker contrasting color but this is how it came out. Maybe down the road I’ll go over it again. I had used the new DuraCoat Aerosol. When I had ordered the paint, they only had a limited number of colors listed for the aerosol. Now it looks like you can get most of the standard colors. When spraying, light is good. If you are not careful, it will run. It took 2 days to spray it. I sprayed a coat and waited 20 minutes then did the next coat. They state it takes 3-4 weeks to fully cure. I put a Leupold 3.5 x 10 CDS on it for now. Trying to save a little money for some other projects. Now waiting for some range time.

I have an Encore in .260 Remington with a MGM 24" barrel, 1 in 8 twist and it is a real Whitetail thumper with 120 gr bullets. I think I was using Sierra ProHunters last.

A Ziess 2 - 10X42HD5 scope is on my 30-06 with a simple plex reticle and I love it.

Good luck with your build.. IMHO you can not go wrong with a Ziess scope.

That turned out nice, I might have missed it but how much did it end up weighing?

Thanks guys. That stock was lot of work but feels real good.
It has a little shine on it now, but they say as the paint cures it shoud dull down some.
Gerry, scoped as in the pic, 7lb 13 oz.

With the snow and ice here, I haven't been able to do any range work. I had this ready and the 300WM with test loads of the LRAB 190's waiting. I've been spending some time with the gunsmith in his shop and met someone who has been working with cerakote. After seeing some of his work, I took the rifle apart and am going to try to give it to him this week to do, if things work out.
A few more weeks...

I got the rifle back together after getting it cerakoted and redid the paint on the stock. Finally got to the range. First I shot some Federal 120 BT’s to sight in with. Then I switched to some 123 CC’s with H4350 and R15. I had a few loads on the softer side with both that shot well but now have to work the way up and see where it goes. The Federals chrono’ed 2820, factory states 2950. We’ll see if it speeds up after about 100 rounds. I want to work up a target load, and then work up a hunting load with the 125 Partitions. I only have some 123’s CC, 123 SST’s and 125 partitions to work with right now and need to try to get some more supplies. I’ll being trying to get to the range this week for more serious group testing. If anyone has suggestions on loads, I’ll give them a shot. Thanks
