Building a 260

Very attractive rifle, Bill. I like the presentation you make in front of the fireplace.

Bill that rifle looks great & once you get it broke in a bit it will be a tack driver!!
That photo really sets it off! :)

Blessings,
Dan

Bill, H 4350 is one of the very best powers for the 260 Rem I bet you find a great load pretty quickly with the bullets you have listed. RL 15 will give a bit less speed but is worth a look, H 4831 sc is capable of fantastic accuracy at a bit less speed than H 4350. IMR 7828 ssc is great if you try heavier bullets. Those are the ones I have personally worked with but there is a host of other powders that would do well judging from the results of others.

Very nice Bill. Seems like it's going to be A super rifle. I really like those little .264's.

I should also mention IMR 4350 was fantastic as well in the 260 Rem with bullets from 120-160 gr, very versatile as well.

Thanks guys. This took a while to get together but I'm looking forward to working with it.
Gerry thanks. I had picked up 8# of H4350 preparing as it was being built. I wish I had picked up more brass and some 130, 140's. I'll be testing the 123 CC and 125 Partitions this week.

Seems like the 123's are where it's at for the 260 sized case. Looks pretty easy to get 2900-2950 out of them and the BC is real good looking.

An 8 lb'er of H4350 is a nice thing to have, it is quite possible that your load development begins and ends with it.

I'm really liking the new paint job, looks great!

With 123s my .260 really likes either of the 4350s. I've shot everything from Varget to Magpro in it, and h4350 is still the best powder. 2900-3k is where they should be.

Very cool caliber!

OHhhhhhhh. Not used to using custom competition components.
New item to me. Thanks.

...as I mentioned, they're a "match" bullet. They've been consistent, accurate, & affordable, they seem to show up on SPS on a fairly regular basis. I like use them for initial load development, easier & more cost effective to find out what your rifle likes, you just need to do a little tweeking w/ your hunting loads, instead of starting out from scratch...
