That 7mm-08 150 gr load is rated at 2650 fps so I would expect it to perform as well as the 250 gr 358 Hot Cor. You are right the Hot Cor is a much better bullet than a lot of people give them credit for.

For hogs, I always go for a behind the ear shot.
That always anchors them DRT
I agree if you hit something In the shoulder it is pretty much going to be ruined with blood shot.
The only exceptions I have had is handguns with hard cast bullets moving at 1200 FPS or less.
I shot a small pig recently through the shoulder with my 1911 and 255g hard cast on the fun at about 20 yards.
No blood shot meat, just a clean hole through both shoulders.
