Does anyone know if Nosler ever made a 220 grain bullet for the 8mm? Just curious.

...there won't be ant 220gr. 8mm Nosler bullets until Scotty buys a .325 WSM...

So I need to be blaming Scotty for the lack of a 220 NP bullet in the 8mm caliber. I'm good with that.

...yes, it's all Scotty's fault...

No, it is not all Scotty's fault, just some of it. Until FOTIS releases to me the 8mm Mag he acquired, Nosler will not make a 220gr 8mm bullet.

Man, that M700 Classic 8mm Rem Mag is tempting!

That particular Classic should prove to be a shooter. I've handled a couple of them; and each was a powerhouse and a shooter.

You aren't kidding Jim. I have that on my watch list. There are a few of them 8RM's bouncing around.

The 8mm WSM will get done eventually! I swear. The 220 PT or AB would help speed it along though!

The 220 grain A-Frame shoots quite accurately in my 325WSM; but, honestly, the elk and moose that have been killed were just as dead with a 200 grain Partition. FWIW!

Bill, I have been reading alot of Bob Hagel's book lately. Great writer for hunters and gun nuts like us. He was about the biggest fan of the PT's I have ever read and when he mentions the 8mm's and 35's he says how great of an elk cartridge the 8mm Rem Mag would be IF Nosler produced a PT for them. Then, later he mentions that Nosler finally released the 200 PT and states how it would be about the perfect elk rifle combining trajectory and power. Never a mention of a 220 though. He also stated how much better the 358 Magnums would have been with a PT.. Wished he had a chance to see the bullets available today for the big guns. Probably have to rewrite his books!

Have you tried any of the 200 PT's in your big 8mm? I know the TSX seemed to work awfully well for you too. I would like to see the 220 out there. Seems like the right size for those bigger cases and the BC is pretty good for the existing ones, so I can only think a PT or AB would be great.

Scotty I have yet to try the 200 Partition in my 8mm mag but intend to do so as I also think it would be a super combination for elk and the like. I have always been and most likely always be a fan of heavy for caliber bullets, with in reason, I'm not going to use a 200 or 220 in my 300 savage.

The TSX did an awesome job on the elk and has been accurate as hell in everything I'v tried them in but, (and this is just a personal thing) the animals shot with the TSX did not have the reaction to the impact that I wanted to see or have seen when hit with a Partition.

The reason for the 220 Hornady is I know or at least believe it will not hold together quite as well as a Partition but the BC is .464 and they scoot along at 2960 in my gun.

I am patently waiting for some 8mm 200 gr partitions to show up at SPS. They got to mess a few up at some point to classify as 2nds.

That is why I switched to all PT's or AB's Bill. I blasted one elk with the 35 Whelen and 225 TSX. Zipped through and killed him just fine, but it didn't seem as walloping as the PT's or AB's.

I am a heavier for caliber as well. Just can't change.. Then again, I haven't ever been disappointed with a Nosler bullet..

Scotty the TSX is a good bullet I'll give it that, but I have never had a Partition bullet disappoint me either and the animals reaction is night and day when comparing the two.

I have never seen a 220 gr Partition advertized for 8mm by Nosler since 1963. Had the 8mm Rem Mag been a bigger seller, it might have been but the demand was not there, except for the 8x64 Mauser (another not too common chambering).
