burris signature select 3-10X40

So I have been in need of a new scope as an excuse to start a new gun project; found a NIB (still in plastic) burris signature select 3-10X40. I got this on a closeout price due to it no longer being offered.($289)

I have no experience with the select line of scopes. I have been told they are very sturdy and optically equivalent to the conquest, vx-III class. Is this true? Did I get a good deal at $289?

That sounds like a good deal to me, from what I know they are the equal of the VX III and Conquest and are known to be tough scopes. If one popped up here for around that price I would be all over it. My 3 Fullfield II's are good scopes for the money and these would be even better.

Not grand larceny but yeah you did OK.
A very clear tough all around scope that will serve you well.
I have both the older Signatures and the Select.
Even the earlier model 3-9 will stand toe to toe with my 3-9 Conquest.
Mount that bad boy on one of your favorite rifles and go.
