Anyone seen the Shooting Catalog yet? Got one in the mail yesterday. There are som SWEET new M70's exclusive to Cabela's in there.....and a Ruger No.1 that has my credit card shaking in fear....

I don't have their catalogue, but I do note a 257 Roberts and a 264 WM special edition (together with a 375 H&H). Were I in the states, I would trade in my CDL in 257 Bob and pick up the Winchester.

That supergrade Bob is a sweet lookin' rifle, ain't it? ;)

The 7x57 No. 1 also looks awesome...

I almost fell over !!!!!!!!

A super-grade 70, .257 Robts.? And for $1800?

Cabela's won't be able to keep up with demand

What a nice rifle,

Jim

I believe Winchester is trying harder than Remington. Pretty rifle.

That Winchester 101 is a nice looking alternative to a $2000 over under as well. My wife has been talking about a puppy, and I've been saying I'd consider it if the puppy were a German Shorthair and she came with an over/under.

Winchester is working harder than Remington today. There was a time when Winchester did some image damage. They produced some real head scratching rifles with post 64 actions. The time frame of these rifles were 1964 up to around 1996 ish. That was not the recognized and certainly awesome Model 70 rifle in that era. That combined with the USRAC situation on again and off again etc etc....

But today any M70 coming out of Carolina will have better quality control than any Rem 700. That is not just my opinion but rather it is any person with attention to detail.

Rem for a long time now has been riding the wave of its prior success. Doing it without making sure that QC is as good as the reputation they feel they have. Maybe they have too many fingers and toes in too many things for the current size of staff.

Jeez, if I had the coin I would love to pick up one of the .375's. Oh well, life ain't fair. Winchester is definitely paying attention, while Remington has been sliding for some time now.

Very sweet rifles. Just got the catalog tonight. The 264 Win Mag High Grade, 257 SG, Sako Finn Bear, M1886 with case hardened receiver, the 7x57, that danged 375! Jeeze, I would say Winchester is back up towards the top! Love them rifles. Now, where is my Whelen!
