Saved by a technicality, Tom. They don't do combined shipping to Canada. Man, I'd have to have everything shipped to Scotty, and then I'd never see it again.

I would hold it for you buddy.. It is Brian you would have to worry about!

Hey Scotty, I can hold one of the new 264WM M70's Cabela's has here in PA for you if you want.....just get me the funds.... lol

As I've often noted, Tom, the generosity of fellows frequenting this forum is simply overwhelming. Scotty could send that new 264 WM up to me for load development.

Oh man! They have them in! I hope they sell decent. That is one cartridge that is very impressive when loaded correctly....

Yeah, but will it be NIB still when Scotty got back, or have a burned out throat? :)

Kurt,

It shows consideration for the man to perform break-in when he is unable to do so.

DrMike said it perfectly.

These are apparently exclusive to Cabela's, which does not bode well. They are way overpriced, too, unless the ad writer decided to leave out some important detail. They want $1500 for them and claim that's $200 off the "regular price". I'm not sure how they get to $1700 for these rifles. If they go like the 50th Anniv rifles, they won't sell at all and will "market correct" back to around a grand, which is about right.

Again, that's absent any info being omitted from the flier advertisement I got for the rifle. Maybe I'll amble up there this weekend and eyeball one, just for giggles.

Just looked it up on their site....

They are "Cabela's Special Edition High Grade"....higher grade wood, iron sights, blueing, etc. Basically, sounds like it's real similar to a SuperGrade. Maybe a hair "higher" than a SuperGrade.

I saw them in the catalog and they looked pretty sharp. Not saying they are worth 1700 bucks, but they were pretty nice. They look pretty close to the old school Westerner..

They will not sell at that price, Scotty. Not even at the sale price.

A year from now, we'll see them for $1000-$1300 to clear them out, which is more appropriate pricing, I think.

Yeah, I agree with you there Tom. I see the 300WM's they had out first have came down a bunch. If I had not have gotten the WSM, I would have looked at one of them as well...

Commemorative rifles are almost never a bargain. They are "too special" to shoot, thus failing to meet that need. Moreover, they are generally overpriced, demonstrating that the manufacturer/marketer seek only to capitalize on gullibility.

Thanks guys. I don't have enough cash to build enough rifles currently and then you post the second devils site on here I thought SPS was bad $1200 ago.
