Rumor has it that IMR4227 is rebranded H4227 (which isn't on the current Hodgdon burn chart). I see some nice heavy loads for 38 special using H4227 and I have a couple of pounds of IMR 4227. Okay to use IMR for H data?

Yes and no!? It's close but no cigar data. You might find data that's the same in 1 cartridge with 1 specific bullet as that's rare. My suggestion is NOT to use 1 in the other! I've seen the same for h and imr 4350 and I know that's a no-no!

I dunno - but I see some decent looking 357 mag loads on Hodgdon's online data center using IMR 4227. I wouldn't assume IMR 4227 is the same as H 4227, but a phone call to Hodgdon can likely clear that up quickly.
