Canadian Moose Hunt

Cheyenne,

Appreciate the prayers. God is good and I'm enjoying my life. I'm busier than I've ever been, but doing less running around. You know the Canadian system; I'll have a couple of knee replacements ... eventually. :? Noah's shooting a .260 that I built for him. We worked up a load with 140 grain Partitions. He shoots it quite well. He will connect soon; and when he does, he will be one happy lad.

DrMike, I hope that you feel as good as new soon! That is a really nice moose that your Pastor friend shot. I am glad that at least you are able to hobble around a little. Good luck to Noah, we all are nervous on shooting our first deer.

Dr. Mike, Thank you for sharing the story of your Pastor friend and the video.. And best wishes and prayers for your quick and complete recovery to good health for many years to come..

I have returned from Montana where I hunted Elk and Mule deer but did not fire a shot on either due to distance on what we saw and warm and windy weather putting the elk into the timber. I returned home with many fond memories and some great pictures of the country and my guides.

Time to turn my sights on upstate NY Whitetails for a few days. Thanks again, Rol

I will survive, Rol. I consulted with an orthopedist today. Damage may not be as severe as it could have been. We're going to try physioterrorism to see if we can avoid surgery. I'm feeling reasonably comforted by this consult. However, it will not be a short series of sessions.

Hope you heal quickly Mike, Maria and I should be in your neck of the woods sometime after Christmas and I can help you pack out your elk should you be successful.

When you show up, I should be able to show you where the elk are. They are around. I keep running across their tracks. They seem to be nocturnal this year, though I am seeing a few from time-to-time. I'll be working hard to get myself in shape so I can at least hobble through the snow.

If your knee is still bummed how would you feel about riding in a game cart? [emoji2]

Just asking. [emoji6]

I have no problems riding in a game cart or even in a wheelbarrow, should it come to that. I've weighed investing in an ATV or even in a side-by-side. Money is a bit tight, however, as I have other obligations at the moment. Still, there is plenty of game in the bush, and I'm usually able to see game on every trip into the bush; I'm just not as agile as previously and, hence restricted in my pursuit of said animals.

I'm in hopes that you will be able to sufficiently recover so that you may continue your pursuit of your chosen game.

Vince

Thanks DrMike for the post that is a very respectable Moose the young Pastor anchored.
I sure hope that the knee responses well to the therapy. Once Noah connects on a White tail he will have all the confidence he needs to go from there.
I was wondering if gerry and his wife are still coming to your place for that cow elk draw.

Blessings,
Dan

Yep we are still planning on going, Maria was hitting our steel plate at 300 yards a few days ago, that girl can shoot :)

I'm still planning on hosting you, Gerry and Maria. I had better get my act together, however; I don't want to be embarrassed. There are elk around, but they sure are holding tight in the bush this year. The bulls were quite silent, as well. However, I am seeing cows around.

gerry, I am sure glad that Maria is enjoying that shooting & hunting. I can't wait until the season starts you three are going to have a hoot!!!!

Blessings,
Dan
