Just picked this up earlier this week and have spent part of the weekend getting the new reloading room set up. This machine makes case prep a whole lot easier than all the hand work done. I'm almost looking forward to the 1000 cases that need to be trimmed before next years p-dog shoots

Wow, that is nice!
You are going to take all the fun (blood, sweat and tears) out of reloading.

Now, that's what I'm talking about. Arthritic fingers would be no match for that setup.

Joel, you are holding on me! What is that magnificent machine! Man, I figured as a Marine you would have given me a sneak preview on it! It looks like a better made RCBS case prep tool. Scotty

Been eye-balling this thing for a little while trying to justify the cost and just got caught in a weak moment  . It is pretty sweet and definitly reduces the prep time on a lot of the steps. I think chamfering and deburring are the biggest pains in the butt, and this really makes that process nice. If you get the RCBS version, you still have to have two seperate machines and the verticle trimming is spot on every time so far (only done 20 cases). It costs about $100 less than the two RCBS machines, so it was a no-brainer.

If I send you all my brass, will you trim it for me?

What JD said..... :) Very nice. Now all you need is a three day snow storm and a coffee pot. CL

Here I just finally after all these years got a case tumbler and am just amazed at how nice it is to have that piece of equipment to my cases are clean inside and out and I no longer have to use 0000 steel wool to clean the necks and shoulders by hand. Imperfections and possible cracks are so much easier to spot anyplace on the case. I am humbled by what you have kind sir. It is a beauty!

The prairie dogs do not stand a chance!

I have been looking at those as well. I have the RCBS prep station, and a hand trimmer on a small bench. You'll have to let us know if you have any issues with it and if it is worth the $. Would sure help unclutter my bench if it work good.

How do you set it up for trimming? That is what I wanna know. My least favorite thing to do.

The case sits upside down in a shell holder (not supplied with the unit), with the correct pilot placed in the cutter head at the bottom. There is a T-handle used to push the case down on the pilot and cutter head once you have adjusted for the correct depth you want to remove. It's hard to see in the first picture, but there is an adjustment handle behind the T-handle for your adjustments on depth of cut. The adjustment handle has two parts for adjustment, top adjustment is to get to within a half inch of the pilot and the second is for micro adjustments. The micro adjustment has marks that designate .001 change per mark.

I did twenty 300WSM cases yesterday, so not a big test. The motor turns at a nice slow rate and is very quiet. The primer pocket cleaner, deburring and chamfering tools worked equally well. Cost at the reloading store where it was purchased was $350 plus shell holders (I needed three). Not a bad investment to help eliminate some of the tools we have cluttering up our reloading benches and sure makes some of the case prep operations alot easier once it is set up. I think it should be on everyone's Christmas wish list!! :)

Uses the standard shell holders you would use in a press.

There was a booklet inside the box, but I haven't looked at it yet.

Man, I was finally able to look at it on the computer! Very nice piece of gear. I have added it to my Wish List! Scotty

Just did the 25-06 cases that will be used for deer hunting this year...had to trim about 2/1000ths off most cases. This machine should not be legal  8) I would have to say this is the best investment put into my reloading equipment that I have ever made.

JD- you need to check with me in January and see if I need some entertainment...might be able to do some of your brass

I'm really liking the looks of the brass shaving cathers. Glad to hear it is quiet, my RCBS prep station isn't so much.

Now, Joel, you are making life tough for me. I looked at this last year and passed. You keep this up and I'll be kicking myself and heading to the store to pick one up. Seriously, it looks good. Consequently, is the inside chamfer a VLD chamfer?
