I went to the range tonight with my 44 Super Blackhawk. Loaded it up with a wheel weight cast semi Wadcutter 225 grn bullet over 7 grains of W231. Velocity, no idea, might be around 900 FPS?? Thought I'd try to hit the 300m gong on the Rifle line.
I was into my 2nd cylinder, but I hit it on the 8th or 9th shot. I sent the first 3 over it and then started a bit lower and walked in on target. Most likely I wouldn't have tried it, but I did the same thing with my 44 Henry rifle and that took about 10 shots to get on target.
I have to say I am shocked by that perfromance out of a 7.5" barrel. I did miss it by an inch off the left side on #9 and was real close on the next 3 shots, but didn't ring it again. It made my night, I'd have to say.
