.257 Roberts or .25-06.
x2 on one of these. I have know idea what your budget is but maybe the newer savage LW hunter in 6.5x284. It would easyily make your weight requirements and well it's a savage so it would probably be moa outta the box.

I think I got it figured... Working on cleaning out my safe a bit to afford it.

so you are just going to leave us hanging?

What is coming out of the safe?

What is going in the safe?

We RADD addicts NEED TO KNOW!

Yeah, I could make a trip East next time I'm home!

Actually, now that I think about it, I can't. Gun club initiation and a trip to take Nolan to see Thomas the Train at the Mt Hood Scenic Railroad on Saturday, and Father's Day on Sunday. I'd probably get killed if I missed FD.

Is it a 270WSM Jake... I am pulling for you to get one. I think you would really like it! You might end up stealing it from your wife! They are some super cartridges and set up right, I think you would be set! Scotty

A 260 would be a very nice caliber. Effective killer, usually very accurate and usually handles good.

Well I'm getting rid of a Remington 870 Express 12 ga., a youth Remington 870 20 ga., the Remington 700 7-08, and maybe a Winchester 20 ga. as well. I have four shotguns in the safe, and can only shoot one at a time and the Mrs. said she never wants to shoot birds, so by my math, that is three to many.

I'm not telling what I'm getting till it gets here, and I get it set up. I'm pretty stoked though!

Good luck Jake. Hope it works out buddy. Who needs all those shotguns anyhow! Scotty

Now, that is just mean to hype us rifle junkies up and not let us in on your thinking. Surely you want to offer a clue?

That's funny. I have three of those goofy 6.8s on the .30-06 case.

270 WSM

I just can't get over it, I can't help it, I want a good lightweight 270 WSM. I know I have the 280 AI, and I love that gun, but I need two deer guns. My wife really doesn't care or shoot that much, so I figure it may as well be a gun that I will love. It does everything and then some that any factory 6.5 can do in normal hunting ranges. Plus I don't own a .277 or a .308 of anykind, and I would like to remain a US citizen, so I had to put one of those two in my safe.

I'll keep you guys posted on the progress.
