Now I have used Chrony (I have an Alpha) with no major problems. Couple of errors here and there when the sun is really bright. Other than that all is ok.
However I do not know anything about the pact, accuracy, sensetivity etc.
So which one should he get and why?

Thanx in advance!

Thanx bud. I will relay the info.

I have one of each, a PACT Professional, as well as a Beta Master Chrony. I like them both, and PACT is a great company to stand behind their stuff. I will say from a function standpoint, the PACT does more, but the Model 1 is not any more capable than the Chrony. The major advantages to the Chrony are the ease of use and portability. For frequent trips to the range, the Chrony is a great choice, lightweight, easy to transport, etc. Be sure to get the Master series, though, or you will shoot the electronics at some point. That is the singular advantage to the Model 1 PACT - the skyscreens are easily and cheaply replaceable. As for velocity, both work well for me.
