What do you use to clean them with? Has anyone used alcohol?

Use isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol) on the lenses. Use a lint-free cloth or a soft cotton cloth once the lens are moistened. The body can be wiped with a damp cloth.

I have several boxes of Zeiss pre-moistened lens cloth to clean my glasses and hunting optics. In the field, I carry a lens pen.

If you get sand or dirt on the lense try using a can of compressed air and a lense brush to remove the dirt first. Dirt and sand will scratch the coating even if its wet.
I have a couple of cameras and I use the same "cleaning kit" and methods on all my lenses.
A dirty lense is better than a scratched one any day.
If you need a cleaning kit go to a photography supply store.

I always hit mine with the compressed air before moving forward.... I have a large spray bottle of Zeiss something or the other and then the soft lens cloths...
