COL Adjustment for Accuracy

I have a load in my 788 6mm that with a 3 shot group the first two shoot sometimes in one hole and at worst they are a 1/4" spread. The third shot always seems to want to drop below the first two and sometimes off to the right also. I have read someplace it seems how to adjust your COL to overcome this problem but I can't remember how you do it. I am now loading to 2.825. If someone could give me advice with this problem I would appreciate it.

If that is your max that the magazine or throat will allow start seating them deeper ie 2.815 2.805 etc. Also a primer switch may be in order . Also are you letting the barrel cool between the 2nd and third shots?

Yes the barrel cools the same amount of time between all shots, One minute. Between groups it cools for five minutes. I can seat out further than 2.825, should I try it both ways? I figured on seating three at 2.825, 2.820, 2.815, etc. I know in my other 6mm (Ruger 77) it seems to shoot best with a 2.800 COL.
