Sat down to dinner at 7 pm and heard a god awful screaming, went out back to investigate and a coytoe had the barn cat in his mouth, looked like the cat was given more then the dog was planning on. I've been breaking in a new .257 roy and the gun just happend to be in my garage.

He saw me, droped the cat, and took the bullet right in the chest, exit whole right out the tail pipe.

not shure how good the shot was, he was only about 25-30yds away. glad to get my new gun bloody though.

I'm not a cat guy by nature - I'm allergic to them and they close up my sinuses. But, a barn cat is a most useful employee on a farm, and I always encouraged my dad to keep one or two around. Really kept the mice from around the grain bins and such. I say all that to say that while I'm not usually a cat guy, I'm glad to hear the old barn cat was giving that songdog heck, and I'm equally glad you happened upon the good fortune of having a rifle ready and helping said cat continue to be a good employee! Sounds like your barn cat is one tough dude. Definitely a keeper.

Not sure im a .204 fan but i already own sevral .22/ 250 a .220 swift, she was
ready to buy and i panicked,

"put your self in my shoes"

Im sure it will be a ringer but i realy would hve liked to find a 244. roy or a .220 rocket
