Gentleman,
Any thoughts good or bad regarding the Dakota single shot? Anyone have one? Accuracy? Feel? I have a hankering but am trying to squash it....or embrace it, which do I do?
Thanks
I hate to be a wet blanket but I have heard that you do not dry fire a Dakota M10. Apparently firing pins break easily and frequently. With that said, I'd love to have one in a traditional sporting cartridge, say a 7x57. I have quite a few Ruger #1's in various configurations but that Dakota makes the Number One look like a fat ungainly cow. Yes, I do want on before I croak.

my son has one that he likes, but it is the Mannlicher model and he had them put a 22 inch barrel on it. His is in the 9.3 x 62 caliber. From memory he used a 286 gr out of it on his last hunt in Africa for large plains game. I have never used it, but it looks nice
