Darn good speech

Guillory presents a compelling reason for rejecting the Democratic party. I've heard him on several occasions now.

Very interesting stuff, I watched it and then had my wife watch it too. We both liked it.

Along the same lines my wife and I saw a local Native man from a village on the coast who wrote a book about some of the very same things the senator saw and had 30 publishers turn him down. In the end he published it himself, very interesting guy to listen too. Left wing politicians and a select group of powerful Native chief's certainly don't like him but he goes on and has written more books.

His name is Calvin Helin and the book is called "Dances with Dependency"

He studied his own culture, studied the whole Inner city problem the senator mentioned and also traveled to the old East Germany that for years was under communism. He found that the people were different but the results the same, giving up freedom for government control resulted in many different problems. I hope we can hear him again when he comes back here, really sharp guy that is fighting a huge uphill battle.

Tragically, surrendering freedom for security, while initially attractive, ensures that citizens shall soon have neither freedom nor security,

Senator is from Opelousas, LA, a town about 50 miles north of where I live. I have met him. He is a trial lawyer, and I handled a car collision claim at his office. he was a very nice, thoughtful man.

I applaud what he is doing, and what he is saying. I only hope he is sincere and his actions and words prove it in the future. The reason I say this is that, in the last 20 years in Louisiana, we have had numerous politicians in this state switch form D to R when they saw the way the wind was blowing. The problem was that, while the letter after their name on the ballot was "R", they still thought and passed legislation like a "D", including a governor. I am hoping that this man means what he says, and I will reserve final judgement until I can see if his words and actions are consistent.
