9 Days of looking for Mule Deer.
Buddy got a nice 4 point high on the mountain from his spike camp. You can see it on the front of his jeep. Also note him towing double!

Back at camp one night was steak night. Another we were so tired it was beans from a can.

Love the larch. We heard wolves middle of the day, heard Mt Lion chirping at night at both spike camp and at the main camp. Every hunter we talked to had seen or heard wolves. They are doing well in Eastern Washington. Not so much the deer.

While the hunt was not as successful as you might have wished, you were sure in some beautiful country. The experience, and the exertion to succeed, will have refreshed your soul, no doubt. And yes, the larch are lovely at this time of year!

I always enjoyed hunting ne Washington or north cascades when I lived up there. It was always surprising to me how easy it was to get away from people, though there are so many. I haven’t hunted up there since 2010 come to think about it. I have the same stove and tent (manufacture) as you do. Good equipment makes time in the mountains more enjoyable.
