What is the definition of "bug holes" as in "but would shoot bug holes with"?

Is it a clover leaf shaped group or one ragged hole?

Looks like one hole...not even all that ragged.

I've only owned one rifle in my life that would do it...and I've owned a lot of rifles.

Its not as common as the internet might make it sound but it can and does happen...most often as a result of tedious load development and testing, no to mention a few rifle modifications.

For my purposes, a bughole group is all shots cutting one hole. It looks better when you can't tell one shot from another but I'm not a pro, just a handloader with simple equiptment trying for the best load possible, so a ragged one hole group meets my definition.
For me and a hunting rifle it is very hard to achieve must less repeat regularly. 3 shots into one hole is not that difficult but when you shoot a 5 shot group it gets really tough.

In my book, a bug hole group is a single hole that looks like this one.

Well, yeah. That qualifies for sure as a bughole.
What is the bullet and load if you don't mind?

BTW The one in the center is a bughole to me.

Bragging quality, for sure. Congratulations. You will need to have that laminated and framed.

Wow, those sure are great groups. Thanks for clarifying that for me. In my opinion, regardless of how accurate your rifle and ammo are, it still takes some shooting skills to turn in targets like these. You guys have my respect, that's for sure.

Thank you HC for the specs on the 150gr. ABLRs H4831 seems to really set up the 270win.

Blessings,
Dan
