I've been helping a good friend who caught the "long range" bug after going out shooting with me. We took his stock Rem 700 in 30-06 and replaced the scope with a vortex viper hs-t scope and a timney trigger. Worked up a load with the nosler 190gr ABLR and subsequently he caught the reloading bug as well and purchased his own equipment.....anyway we took his load out today and verified zero and then backed it up to verify drop data. I set up a 60% ipsc silhouette target at 547 yards and he banged away on that with only needing one click of adjustment from the predicted data. He then jumped right out to a target at 990 yards and quickly scored 2 hits at that range. I'm not sure I've seen him smile as big as he did after that! It was a really good day with mild temps and very little wind and some fine shooting.
