Hi Charlie, heck no buddy, my .375 H&H (Sako) weighs in at 9.5 lbs, and my .300 win mag (Tikka) weighs in at 8.8 lbs. Felt recoil isn't all that much more than a lighter weight 30/06, and when you have food in the cross hairs, you don't feel noth'n! :wink:

This is true Lou, but I make it a point to not shoot anything over a .270 in a 5.5 pound rifle! Even adding mount, rings and scope, that 5.5 lb Tikka would be too much for me in a .300 WM?

Yup, I would never buy a rifle under 7lbs in the bigger medium bores Charlie, heck my CZ 455 American .22lr even weighs more than a 5.5lb Tikka

Fotis - I used a .50 T/C traditional side-hammer to take a couple of mule deer. VERY EFFECTIVE...

I used the big ol' soft lead Hornady Great Plains bullets. Sometimes real black powder, sometimes Pyrodex.

Nice .223 .I have the exact rifle in .308 win ,it is my favorite of the bunch. It is very lite and weighs only 6 1/2 pounds scoped with a vx3 2.5-8x36.I would love to have another .Lee
