When loading for hunting using Rem. brass (or whatever make you use), does mixing the lots within the brand make that much of a difference?

In theory, it should not make a difference; however, in practise, it can make a difference. Keeping the same lot simply eliminates one variable for that shot that simply can't be missed.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the comeback. After all these years I know the answer to the question. I just got a little careless & mixed a couple of lots by mistake. :x

I agree...don't overlook the difference that different brands of brass can cause. When I first started reloading, I mixed a couple of different brands and was shooting some good groups, but every now and then I would get a 2 inch flier. However, I soon realized that I has shooting two different brands, and when I finally separated them out they had a different POI, but each brand grouped well with each other.

As already stated, it does make a difference.
Also, I always run my hunting ammo through the rifle to ensure that they all feed and chamber properly.

Thanks everyone for your input; I very much appreciate it  I would never under any circumstance mix different makes of brass :( I think what I will do is experiment a little. I'll take the mixed bag & as the man says, weigh them all & separate them & see if I can come up with some consistancy. Then I'll load each group & see what the results are. Thanks again
