I have several S&W .44 Mags, and one of them is a 329 PD 4".
I had to use it the other day, in a hurry, and I about dropped it with those full house loads in it. Had a hell of a time getting back on target to put more in him.

I'm thinking about loading some with Unique for this gun.

How much with 240 Laser Cast Semi wad cutter?

What say you?

6.0-7.0 grains Unique.
If you can find some or have it on hand, 5.0-6.0grains of CLAYS is way better and way, way cleaner.

...6-7grs. of Trailboss or 7-8 grs. of AutoComp are a couple more good reduced loads for a lite, short .44 Mag, both run around 900fps @ 1/2 the pressure of "full bore" loads...

I loaded 7.5grs. of Universal Clays behind a 200gr. Lasercast bullet. Universal Clays burned much cleaner for me.

I use 8grs of Unique with a 240-250gr lead SWC bullet. Very accurate. Shhot ground squirrels with it and open sights.

Man, I wanna give those a shot. They sound very fun. Might have to spool up the press!
