That has to excite! I know I'm looking forward to your pictures.

I have found a load with 175gr Sierra MK with CFE223 seems to be the winning ticket. I took it back out this weekend and shot it again. This load has been a consistant performer for the last several weeks. I had heard that the CFE 223 was temperature sensitive so I waited till the last before I shot this at the long berm. Temp was around 33 degrees, last time I had been shooting this load it was in the high 50s. I started out at 200 yards, dailed the correction on the turret and fired this 6 round group. .49 MOA

Then I sent three down to the 300 yard berm and fired this 3 shot group without dialing any correction. .53 MOA

lelandad-
What trigger did you end up putting in your DPMSLR? I’m really impressed with the Giesel high speed national match.

That has to be very gratifying! Excellent shooting and an excellent load.

I have found that using a competition seater to get an exact ogive OAL makes a big difference. I have always weighedmy powder charges individually for most of my rifle loads but generally used a COL based off the tip of the bullet. Now I seat them all a few thousands off ane measure each one and dial in the amount needed to get an exact ogive COL. It takes a lot longer but you cant argue with the results.

A buddy of mine loads for extreme accuracy and the level of precision he uses puts me to shame, but he has some of the most accurate ammo I have ever seen. He not only sorts bullets and brass by weight but he also uses a neck sizer and seperate expander with a tapered expander to maintain exact neck tension and double weighs, electric scale and beam, every shot. He measures each cartridge at the ogive also and is the one who talked me in to doing that too.

I guess when you are going to go out to truely long range you need to get really nit picky about your loading practices.

I don't know which Giessele it was, I went with what the Smith recommended. I think it was a SSA-E?? I'm not sure.
