Dream Hunt

Well, - you guys have it all over the water in the USA/Canada. Such a massive choice of quarry to hunt...and along with it, the fitness from the sound of it to go for it. I'm envious.
Go get your dream hunt before it passes you by.
Very best of luck to you all with it too. Cheers. :)

416 or 378 ....... both sting!

And how! I recently did load development on a 460 Wby. It shot amazingly tight groups. It did have a kick, however. I haven't shot a 416 or a 378 that didn't rock me. However, they will sting!

I'm torn between a hunt in Alaska or the Yukon for huge moose, caribou, elk, deer, grizzly/brown bear, and sheep or Africa for Buff, another Kudu, Sable, Eland, and a few cats with a pachyderm on the side. Or maybe my dream hunt would be a around the world hunt consuming a year or two. Bird hunting and Red Stag in Argentina, Elk, Red Stag, Fallow, Thar, Sika, and Chamois in New Zealand, a couple months in Africa for plains game and the big 6, Red Stag somewhere in Europe, Brown Bear in Russia, Marco Polo sheep, then hit North America starting in Alaska and work my way down to Desert Bighorn and Mulies in Mexico. With as many birds and small game as possible mixed in. A dream hunt may be one that never ends until we miss home enough to go home.

Since I'm going on my first Elk hunt in Oct. and the possibility of a Moose hunt next year. My new dream hunt is staring down the barrels of a big bore double rifle at "Black Death" Cape Buffalo. Maybe Elephant and some plains game like Kudo also. It can happen if you dream it!

+1

I had such a hunt some years back. I took black bear and mule deer, but I had almost a month, exploring areas of this province I'd never seen. I was able to just take my time exploring with a good friend who doesn't do as much hunting today due to an illness. The memories of what we saw are vivid and fresh motivation to see what's over the next mountain.

Man, I can't wait to see this double buddy!

Mike, I am pretty sure I could hunt your area of NA and never want for much more. Just so many opportunities to hunt different game on so many levels. Scotty

Do you have room for me at your house when I buy my 416 Double Rifle?

There's always room at my house for friends. The mountains are not that far away. Bring your camera and lots of memory cards. I do believe the experience of seeing God's handiwork and sharing it with a friend makes for a great hunt. The time spent in the wilderness with good friends is a source of endless joy for me. If I am able to introduce a young person to the sport, I'm actually in paradise.

I would need to go to the mountains and hide if I spent $10,000 or more on a rifle.

You and me both Sarge!

Mike, I cannot wait to reenter BC. I think if alot of us could see what BC offers to hunters they would think they had stepped into the Mother Lode! It is unreal country up there. Scotty

BC is beautiful but us flat landers  enjoy our wide open spaces. We have some exceptional hunting and fishing just 1 province east.
You could drop by here on your way home my door is always open :)

Blessings,
Dan

1 Province east, That'd be Alberta! I thought after the 13 man ordeal all you Sask boys had to go back to school. LOL . In truth we are very lucky in the western part of Canada, lots of game and beuatiful country no matter which direction you drive.

A yukon moose hunt, float down the river hunt with my Dad and my BIL would do it for me. My first ever moose hunt was when I was 16 with dad and we used a jet boat went up the Athabasca river, got a small bull spent a week way back, with noone else around it was awesome.

If I remember right in the last few years our boys have made it to at least one more game than a lot of other teams but whos counting  PS isn't Alberta just Saskatchewan west
But you are right even Manitoba boys have some real good hunting up in that north west section.
Alberta is great the fishing is a little light but you got some real quality Muleys down in the south.
All in all we are blessed.

Blessings,
Dan

Like many others here, my dream hunt would be in Alaska for giant moose and interior grizzly for about 10 -14 days. If not in Alaska then the Yukon territory of Canada. Flying into the hunt area and staying in a rustic log cabin would be the ultimate hunt and experience in my book.

It's a tough one, got pretty much everything here, so it would be a toss up between caribou in Alaska or elk in Colorado USA. Either as long as I could share it with my dad. :)
