E Tip minimum expansion velocity

I haven't seen this information yet. The AccuBond is 1800fps what speed can we expect the E Tip to open up fully at. My '06 didn't like the 180's but I would still like to try the 150's. A couple of E Tip's weighing 235-240 gr and 260-270 gr would be nice for my 375 Ruger BTW :lol:

I'd like to know about that also. I'd like to be able to use E-Tips in my 338 but I really havn't heard that much about performance in that caliber.
I havn't tried E- Tips yet, I love the Accubonds. I live in Kalifornia so I know it's just a matter of time before we are lead-free statewide.

They'll open up all the way down to 1800fps--they look like little palm trees!

These 30 cal 180 grain E-Tips were recovered from ballistics gel down in our tunnel and are displayed up in our Pro Shop.

Thanks Nosler4, they say a picture is worth a 1000 words that looks pretty good. Those 150's should open up a lot farther out then I will actually shoot something even out of the 30-06.

Just ordered up some 150gr Etips for my 30-06. I have some Ramshot Big Game and H4350 hopefully I can find a good load. The reviews I have seen so far look very good even for animals up to the size of moose with that bullet.

JD, is this 2950 vel. out of your 280AI, if so that's dang good for an E Tip I would think?

What is the BC of that bullet?

Yes, my 280 AI. 24" Hart barrel yielded 2950 fps.
The 7mm 150 gr E-Tip SD is .266 and BC is .498

My .308 liked the 150 grain E-tips prety well.
My load was a little light and MV was not the best, but the 3 shots were prety close togethr.
It did,nt like the accubonds very well, witch was a dissapointment.
But I have 2 more .308s and a pair of 06s and one of them is bound to like the AccuBond.
