Earlier today dog and I hopped in the Jeep and headed up into the hills, about 5,000' higher than the Columbia River - where we found:

Elk!

Which one do you shoot to fill your elk tag? Range is 130 yards, slight right to left wind, maybe 10 mph...

He also found a grouse:

And we both thoroughly enjoyed the ride in our Jeep with no top and no doors!

Hard to beat a good dog for a reconnoitering companion.
Great pics as always.
Thanks!

Nice thanks for sharing. I'd take the middle one, if I had the right tag of course.

Looks to have been a most enjoyable afternoon. I'm certain that fine dog enjoy time afield, using his senses to discover the world.

Nice pics Guy, any of those would taste great but if legal that nice little spike would be in trouble with me :) That Jeep sure looks to be the perfect vehicle for you.

It was a fine day.

Hoping to post a photo of a cow elk tagged, along with one for my son, this fall. With a little luck, we'll draw our cow elk tags!

Honestly I have little interest in another branch-antler bull. No more walls in the house for another big ol' set of antlers!

I have however, reserved space for a nice set of mulie antlers...

Great picture Guy and yup, I'd smack the cow standing broadside up close! I am all about a bird in the hand sorta guy! HA!

Great pictures and it looks like you had a fine day.
Really beautiful country. God got that country right when he made it.
