Unfortunately I did not have enough time to hunt elk this year due to my job, however I could not stay away. I went up there for 2 days with my boy and his friend. 3 elk in three days! 1 cow and 2 6x6's. Awesome time! 1 kill with 300 rum and 168 TTsx, 1 6x6 with 300 Winnie 180 Hornady bt and 1 6x6 30-06 and 180 Nosler Partition. All handloads provided by yours truly of course!

Well, that's sure the way to do it, POP. I wish I was as good as you, so it only took a couple of days to fill all my tags and my freezer! Now at least I've got something to shoot for...

In all seriousness, that's a great set of pix, and congrats on the elk for all involved. I'm preparing to take my boy white-tail hunting in a couple of weeks. Nothing beats time afield with the boys (or girls, as my daughters are already asking when they get to go...).

I TOTALLY agree. Time spent outdoors with the young ones is great!

Pop,

Congratulations on your elk hunt. You and the boys did an awesome job!
All the elk are nice but that big six point is a dandy.

Yup they are nice man...too bad all I did is help a little but hey any time spent in the mountain is heaven.

Looks like a lot of fun Pop. Keep taking lots of pics. You and your kids will really appreciate them as time goes on. Lots of great memories.

There is no better sight in elk camp than multiple branch bulls hanging from a tree.
Congrats to all.

The rest of the guys in camp got bulls too. Man what a great year not to have some crumby time off!!!!!

Good stuff and looks like fun. Our hunting season down here did not start until today and today is the beginning of bow season. I do not like to hunt bow season down here it is to hot. Nov 17th starts are rifle season and I can't wait. You Guys out west have it really good and I could not make Arizona this year because of my job.

Wish you the best of luck bullet. Get a big-un

What a wonderful group of photos and some beautiful elk, Pop!! Thanks for posting the pictures and sharing your trip with all of us.

Definately fun fellas. Just wish I had hunted too!
