Elk Rifles are Zeroed

Scotty gave Tom and myself a few minutes at the bench today also

My M70 300 RUM at 300 yards with the 200 AB.

I got few down range with Tom's 260 AI at 100 yards. This five shot group made me feel good

Scotty,
It looks like you're all set! I want to pass along my strongest encouragement and hopes for a successful trip - I don't know anyone more deserving.
I'm headed out to the Bighorns Tuesday to go after my area 45 cow freezer filler. Getting to hunt with old friends after several years is going to be special. This is a 'leave the horses at home and shoot where you can drag downhill to the truck' proposition. We need snow for sure. The ponies can be retrieved in a couple hours if I get overly ambitious, but that hasn't been necessary for my friends for several years.
I'd like to know more specifically where you are headed without asking you to spill any beans...

Headed to McCall Idaho EE. Just about my favorite place!

Brian, thank God Tom finally took control of that 300RUM and showed it who was boss! It was starting to worry me. Maybe it was just scared with the 338 at the bench?

Groups tightened up after the bench hogger went home  Tom has forcefully stated that he wants no trigger time on my M70 300 RUM.

.!Brian -
Looks like you are ready buddy! Tom is obviously smarter than you :p . I want no part of that beast either!
Hope you and Scott have a great hunt with Bill and enjoy the campfires :)

The rifle is ready, but still packing! Tom has his moments of clarity  No doubt it's a beast! I see lots of quick MSR dinner meals at night and few campfires with Redbreast.

Brian,

Looking good buddy. You are ready to put an elk in the freezer.

Scotty,

This ones for you.........

I told Brian and Scotty that I might get one of those monsters when I grew up. I am not sure that I would want to own anything I had to wear a shoulder pad to fire and two sets of hearing protection :).

I hope you guys have a VERY successful hunt. I have enjoyed watching you work up the loads on those rifles.

I'd say that Tom's 260 AI is definitely dialed in. Those are some fine targets, Brian.

Hi Scotty, good luck Lad those rifles you have dialed in will more than do the job :)
Hunt hard, be safe & shoot straight most of all have a great time
Remember we are expecting great stories and photos when you get back.

Blessings,
Dan

Very nice shooting Brian, and not to bad of looking rifle either! Good luck on your hunt and good luck with the Spider Monkey. Have fun and be safe.

Thanks guys! Feeling good about the 300 RUM. I have the living room floor full of hunting clothes and feeling what Guy just went through. Why do I have this funny feeling I'm missing something???

Wish I could claim that rifle as mine! Tom got a good deal on a great rifle. He has some nice rifles, but I think that could be my favorite of his rigs. That thing has no movement when it goes off with the suppressor on. So much fun shooting it!

As long as you bring your rifle, ammo, tag and knife you could hunt and worry about the rest of the stuff when you get there :) Good luck packing guys and on your trip.
