Got out early this morning to do a little scouting for my first season bull tag with my good friend and ranch owner where I'm hunting. Man I'm excited! Saw quite a few elk and a couple of bulls. He saw a very large bull during archery season but we didn't see him today. It was my first trip out to his ranch and it is amazing country!
Here's a picture of the mountain we glassed from.
And the view from the glassing spot into the creek bottoms and Aspen groves.
First bull we found was this little 5x5. Taken with my phone through my spotting scope from about a mile away.

And then we found this 6x6 which was a very good bull and the one I'll be looking for opening morning unless the big guy we didn't see shows back up!

That one was from a good mile and a half or so and kind of hard to see in video but I got some better looks at him and he's a very pretty bull.
October 28th can't get here fast enough!
