In recent calls to our State members in regards to the gun control Bills before whatever (can't remember offical name at the moment) Committee it is here in MN., I had a conversation with a one our Liberal Rep's aids. In one of his questions to me as to why I felt the need for assault type/semi auto weapons of any kind? My answer I believe left him questioning his own stance just by subtle changes I picked up on at the end.
I flat out told him when the Left/Progessive/DFL preaches freedom of choice, with abortion that kills tens of thousands of human babies each year, gay marriage, tolerence of whatever, ect.,,,, why should there be a limit or even ban my choice to which I choose to defend myself and family if needed,,,why when the average 911 call response time is several minutes, when a situation of life or death decisions of my family's defense are mere seconds or fractions thereof,,,,, only to leave the innocent and lawful to the mercy of the lawless,,,, I trust myself and no one else when LEO's are not present for defense,,,we can not legislate our safety from the deranged, only meet them with equal or greater force,,, Sandy Hook wouldn't have had the same outcome with the time that was, allowing for an alerted armed guard or armed teacher(s) with some training,,,,these gun free zones only tell of unopposed oppritunities for the criminally intent on such, and are the most absurd, illogical idea I have ever seen,,,,, the criminals and insane don't obey laws,,, and then the fact the Second Amendment is also to help protect us from possibility of a Gov't of ever increasing control and oppression. After all that is why we fought Britian in the first place,,,, and just remember that the lawless will always have illegal access to the most firepower they can aquire, leaving the law abiding under gunned or helpless all together,,,,and while the technology of weapons changed with time, the nature of the criminally intent and insane, along with the historical possibility of an increasing oppressive gov't hasn't changed over the millenium,,,self defense by whatever means one is up against is a God Given Right. Just watch some of a new born baby's unlearned reactions. Next to the natural need for care, self defense is right there in prevalence.
Left him kind literally "hmmm" speechless, followed by a thankyou for your thought's that seemed unusally sincere, apart from other's I have talked with. It isn't totally impossible to flip some of the anti's I beleive.

Dave Glad to hear we are on the same page. I have never understood why folks in MN. supported these left leaning creeps to begin with, I mean there is more hunters per capita there probably than just about anywhere. I am on a bit of a "fight back " campaign with bumper stickers, "Don't trust a govt' that does not trust you to own a gun". Sent out over 1500 hundred in the last three weeks, mostly to "problem" states to gun stores to pass out for free. The only stipulation is they must go on a vehicle, get out and make a moving billboard so to speak. I turn on the TV and I get blasted with lies so I am firing back. Sent some to Joe's sporting goods in St. Paul but latest efforts have concentrated on Illinois area. If you or anyone else would like some just let me know, all for free of course. They are moving around in 15 states annoying the heck out of the anti's hopefully. Again free to any and all, just put them where they can be seen. Neil

This is a letter that I wrote to the local newspaper yeasterday. It was in response to some femle Liberal's writing that we no longer have any need for a Second Amendment and of course her facts were fullof holes. I will write and repond anytime any Progressive prints their poison in our paper or wherever I see it.
Dear Northern Light: To the unenlightened, the issue of gun control may seem to be the answer to pesky problems like madmen shooting small children on sites designated as "No Carry Zones" for firearms. It requires better focus and judgment for most people to see this problem more as a lack of state and federal government commitment to build complete and competent outpatient and in-care Mental Heath facilities which most communities in this country lack. Instead we give the depressed and even paranoid schizophrenics a handful of pills, as outpatients, and send them on their way without counseling, evaluation or sequestration, if needed, for the patients own good if they are potentially dangerous.
One also needs to recognize the NRA estimates that between 500,000 and 2,000,000 crimes each year are stopped cold by armed Americans who never, in the vast majority of cases, fire a shot! Most people are unaware of these numbers because no one bothers to keep track. The national media is too busy creating an anti-gun owner's feeding frenzy every time there is a public shooting by a mentally deranged coward in a school or shopping center where firearms can not be legally carried by anyone. It may even be the fact of making guns illegal there which feeds the courage of these deranged killers in schools where children are essentially helpless.
In reference to Donna Starr's letter: The Second Amendment guarantees all Americans the right own arms and to form militias in case of tyranny from our leaders. This Amendment is as relevant today as it was in 1787. Look around in the world at countries like Egypt and Syria to see how disarmed citizens, as we speak, in many nations are being tyrannized by overreaching militaries and greedy leaders. Then stop and think. Yes this could happen here but most likely will not because so many American's are armed and sufficiently military trained that tyranny of government at a national level becomes impractical and potentially very bloody. It may then become apparent that the Second Amendment serves us peacefully as well today as it did in 1787.
