Experiences with 8MM's

I have a few of those S&B 196gr SPCE's sitting around. Didn't realize they were loaded that hot! Surprising. I wonder what velocity they'll generate if I fire them from a 29 inch barrel.

It seems you might have a bit of room to go higher than 51.5gr if wanted but the 50.5gr is already giving more than acceptable accuracy with velocities that no factory ammo will match.

I've found depending on lot numbers that 2575-2600fps is the average but my recent restock with a different lot number seems to be a little hotter. Even my rifle's with a 22 inch barrel was achieving 2625 fps with the new lot # load. Keep us posted if you do test it in the 29" barrel, it's always interesting to hear of differing results.

I agree, the 150gr is also a soft and rapid expanding bullet so no need to push them to the absolute max. I'm more that content with the results I got.
