One of the issues I had with my Jarrett was my best groups, 1/4 inch, could only be achieved with cartridges loaded at 3.75, too long for the magazine. Some time ago it was suggested I install a Wyatts magazine box. Then, shortly after elk season, I pulled the action out of the stock and discovered a crack in the stock. Took the rifle to Blagg rifles in Pendleton Oregon. Took Darrin two weeks to build me a stock, custom fitted, and install the magazine box.
Sent the scope back to Leupold for a checkup. Still waiting on the scope.
Very happy with the results, uncanny how much better the rifle feels just a quarter inch shorter.
Before and after photos with a little scenery.

I believe I see the "after," but I fail to see the "before." (Or maybe it is vice versa.) Glad it was worked out, nevertheless.

Yep, the after, should have been in the rifle section as well. For what it's worth a pretty blonde wanted me to put my guns away, what is a guy to do?

Yup. There's a lot of that goes on around many houses. Those pretty blondes will sure trip a feller up.

As soon as I get the scope back I may try some 300 grain bullets, just for grins

Nice looking rifle and a great round.
The 300 gr AB is an impressive bullet with its .720 BC.

Now that looks like it turned out superb...... even w/o the scope attached. Hopefully the Leupold will hold up to the recoil.

Just mounted the scope Friday. Fired three two shot groups for a rough zero. So far so good on the repairs.

That is a very good looking rifle  & the 338 Jarret it is a very capable round. Looking forward to seeing your range report with photos I hope .
Just wondering what model Leuy you have on it & why would you send it back to Leupold for a check up was it acting up before you had the stock problem?

Blessings,
Dan

The scope is a 3.5 x 10 vx3. And yes I was having issues getting the rifle to hold zero. They replaced the springs and another part. I bore sighted the rifle, put two through the same hole, cranked over about 8 inches two more through the same hole, a couple more and she's zero. Need to do some loading and see what she'll do now.

Good luck. Can't wait to see what it does. I know you've got some solid data to work with and that rifle looks awesome.
