I just got a Weatherby mark v chambered in 257 wby and was wondering if anybody had recommendations for factory ammo, as I do not have the ability to reload at the moment. Been looking at the 115 grain bergers but have also considered the Nosler ballistic tips. Just wanted to get some feedback on what y’all have been using for whitetail.

The 257 Bee has lots of speed, I would settle for AccuBond or Partitions in case you hit bone. In my opinion, Ballistic Tips will fragment hitting bone especially from 257 Weatherby speeds, you will be fine with double lung shots, just stay off bones.

double lung shots are what I try to do, hitting the shoulder messes up too much meat imo. Ever tried bergers? Specifically the vlds, MidwayUSA got them in stock and they seem like they would handle the high velocity’s well, considering they’re designed to fragment. Also been considering Sierra gamekings. Got any recommendations for AccuBonds or partitions? Or do I have to hand load those

Nosler sells Trophy Grade 110 AccuBond and Partitions as well. I prefer to reload for better accuracy and its cheaper too.

Barnes TTSX or the Nosler Ballistic Tip.
I have used the BT exclusively so far with excellent results. One of my friends uses the TTSX with excellent results as well.
Those are the two I would try.

Just checked in with my local gun shop and their getting in some new Weatherby ammo, 110 AccuBonds, 115 Nosler BTs,
115 Berger VLDs, and 117 Sierra gamekings.
I think I’ll try all 4 and see which shoots the best. Thank yall for the suggestions,
I will report back with some photos after I am able to get out to the range and try them
