I've got a line on one in 340 Bee that comes w/ a B&C Medalist in addition to a nicely-figured factory walnut stock. The stocks & bluing look pretty flawless.
Does anyone have an idea what a fair market value might be on this?
Depends on what model it was to begin with. If it was a Mark V Deluxe, it is most likely worth $1100 or so depending on condition and then add what you want for the B&C stock. If it has a brake or other features, it could bring more.
I've seen used 340 Deluxes in good condition go for $750-900. Adding in the extra stock and Fotis is probably right on. I'd start around $850-900 and see where it goes. I'd stop at $1000-1100, unless you just have to have it at any cost.
Yeah its an amazing rifle... I DEFINATELY MUST HAVE ONE, but at this juncture I just can't justify it... REALLY need to save up for a Wyoming PH hunt this fall... household expenses keep coming along and eating up my hunting money, I don't need a rifle like this around to eat money I don't have!
Sigh...
Self control is NOT my strong suit, especially when it comes to rifles, but it does help knowing that the deal I'm passing up isn't anything spectacular...
I swear someday I'll get the Savage 110 action I have loaned to my boys as a .243 Win tweaked, a 27" shilen tube, and VIOLA! A non-Weatherby AND non-Remington 340 Bee!!
