Favorite 7mm08 bullet specifically for deer

Yote.....

Here is my last load for my 7-08. For some reason this is my one gun that appears to be my Safe Queen and doesn't make it out too often anymore other than to shoot a group or two.

Wow, that is awesome accuracy. Seems like that rifle would be screaming to jump outta the safe. I saw a M700 CDL 7-08. Wow, it was a nice rifle and looked like it would be an excellent carrying gun. I have the bigger 7's covered. Never had a smaller one. Scotty

Powerstroke,

Let that little beauty out of the safe! She needs to whack a deer!

longwinters- one was shooting 140 ballistic tip reloads and the other was shooting 140 silver ballistic tip winchester factory ammo. Unlike the stories we all have heard from guys shooting these bullets at magnum velocities and complaining about them blowing up at close range, both my friends experienced just the opposite. The bullet hit the deer at 40-75 yards at non-magnum velocities broadside and penciled through the deer. In fact, one penciled through the deer then hit a 6" tree beyond the deer then expanded and penetrated through the tree. Of course, the bullet performed better in other cases...just reporting what I've been told by a couple reliable sources and trying to make a wise choice, which seems to be picking another bullet. Ask me what bullet I'm gonna go with tomorrow...I probably still won't know lol.

I am going to throw a wrench in the mix. I use 120 grain BT with Varget powder. I also use 150 grain Combined Tech BT for when the Deer and Bear seasons over lap here in PA.

The 120 grain BT is my favorite, I had no luck with the Accubonds in my Savage.
