Well today I finally got some new powder. But due to the lack of choices (new cabelas up here in Montana) I tried to get the best powders. The powder that I got is IMR 7828 ssc and Ramshot hunter. Does anyone know some good loads for a 7mm wsm using these powders?

IMO, H4831, H4350, and RL-22 or maybe RL-19 are best powders suited for a 7WSM, H4831SC working out best for me. I dont have any expericence with the two powders you bought and believe 7828 is better suited for larger magnums but you may get lucky....

As far as IMR7828ssc goes, I really like this powder for velocity, and I'm using it in a 270Wby which has a very similar case capacity to your 7mmWSM. Take a look at Hodgdon's data online, and if you have access to a Lyman #48, look through there, as well. IMR7828 (which is the same load data as the ssc version) is one of the better powders for 150gr bullets in Hodgdon's data, and offers excellent velocities for 160-175gr bullets as well. Be aware that loads worked up in cooler weather (around 40-60deg) with this powder can get a tad hot in warmer weather (over 90deg), but common sense says don't shoot a cool weather max load in July in Alabama anyway.

As for Hunter, Ramshot shows some decent data in their .pdf load guide on their site (http://www.ramshot.com/powders/) but in reality, Ramshot Magnum is the better choice. For light to medium weights (120-150gr) Hunter performs fairly well. For heavier weights, it starts giving up a couple hundred feet per second to slower powders.

The good news is, you now have a good medium slow powder in Hunter, and a good slow powder in 7828, and you should be able to work out something for the 7mmWSM as long as your gun doesn't have an aversion to both powders. Keep us posted on your results.

Ramshot Hunter worked very well for me with the .300 WSM, and I suspect it will do fine in the 7mm version as well.

7828 - dunno - maybe a little too slow burning for the WSM? It did work very well in the .300 Win mag with 200 gr bullets when I tried that.
