I have finished a long 11 month odyssey working with two rifles, my 358Win and my 300Win Mag. I added just recently 3 loads, 2 to my 300Win mag and 1 to my 358Win and have now finished my load work for these to rifles. This load work will allow me to be game and condition specific for my trips in the feild hunting.

Today I did some wrapping up at the range with two loads using the 130gr TTSX and one load for the 150gr TTSX and all three groups under and inch. 130gr TTSX with MRP is moving at 3512fps, 130gr TTSX with IMR4350 is at 3461fps and the 150gr TTSX with MRP is at 3334fps. Also, with TAC I was able to shoot a group under and inch with the 250gr Partition moving at 2412fps.

I now have 10 loads under and inch with my 300Win mag 1-130gr TTSX load, 1-150gr E-Tip, 1-150gr TTSX load, 1-165gr Sierra HPBT load, 1 165gr Sierra SBT load, 1-180gr TTSX load (3074fps and is my all around load for 300Win Mag, 1-200gr AccuBond load, 1-208gr Amax load, 1-220gr Partition load and 1-Hawk 220gr load.

I now have 7 loads for my 358Win under and inch. 1-200gr Sierra RN load, 1-225gr Sierra SBT load, 1-225gr Partition load, 1-225gr AccuBond, 1-225gr Hawk load, 1-250gr Hawk load, 1-250gr Partition load (2412fps and is my all around load for 358Win).

This has been quit and effort, lots of money spent and was also a lot of fun. I am writing an article for Ammo Guide on reloading for versatility and I think I have accomplished it in spades with my Savage 116FHSS 300Win Mag. This is a great relief indeed, glad I did it and glad it is over. Now the arranging of data, pictures and text for article which will come out in late August or Early September.

I am also glad I finished before the real hot weather set in. When it is hot you have to make more trips to the range and shoot less, so as I said I am glad it is all done. I want to thank POP for hanging in there with me and providing good load data so I could make reasonable and safe load comparisons. I also want to thank GB300wm who has been invaluable to my work with advice and encouragement and all you who from time to time put impute into my post which gave me ideas which allowed me to make changes from time to time.

Great shooting Mike. You have covered the spectrum for both cartridges. Very awesome indeed. Can't wait to see your loads listed out. I like the both the 300WM and 358 Win alot. Both are some great cartridges. Scotty

Dang good stuff, my Savage 116 30/06 seems to not be picky either.

How do the 200gr RN feed through your .358 Hawkeye, they will not feed in mine.

I set they out as far as I could and still hold them firm in the case and had no problems. Of course I have polished my ramp from the start.

I made a correction, on my first post, I listed the 250gr Hawk twice and the last load should have been the 250gr Partition which is my all around load for the 358Win. Sorry, Mike :)

Good job, Mike!

While I appreciate the work for so many loads, I'm way too simple minded to take that route. I just figure out the kind of bullet I want to use, and try to get a good shooting load from there. When I get around to my .358, I really hope it likes 225 Partitions, 'cause I bought a buttload of them.

Good job Mike, and yes each of us understands HOW MUCH work you put into this project for sure! Any anal reloader would understand perfectly!

I have to say though that I am like BK. I find a good bullet (Nosler) that I want to load for my rifle and then I find the load for that bullet. Once that is accomplished if I am VERY HAPPY with that load then I am done. One bullet, one load for each rifle. Simple with no sighting changes and a bullet that works for everything that particular cartridge was designed for. I'm a simple guy too! Now what would be neat would be for you to pose your loads for each caliber in a group somehow and do some of those awesome cartridge porn photo's you tease all of us with once in a while! We would like that very much Mike! Now I dont' think we are asking too much are we!!!

   Don't worry, I am going to try real hard with this articles pictures. It will take me another month just to put text, data and pictures together like I want them.

Looking forward to your pictures Mike. Great work with all those loads. Can't wait to see your data in print. Scotty

Thanks, I polished mine up real slick too, I did not seat them out far though, I was down at the cannalure.

Once again, great work

It's a labor of love and it pays off in confidence when you need it most. You've got some great loads you can count on to deliver. Great job!

Thanks Greg, and yes you are so right in it paying off in confidence when you need it most. You don't have to guess in the field are wander if it will do the job, you just know it will. It is so cool that you made this comment which shows you spend time getting your loads to be consistently accurate. Jerry, made a like comment yesterday in and email he sent when he said, "Hunters miss because they have no confidence in there self and their equipment. That's because they don't do what we do." You both have hit the nail on the head.
