No bear this morning but it was nice out and I saw quite a few whitetail and mule deer which is always nice. Got to at least take the Winchester Model 70 for a walk and quality time! (y)

Some color starting to show!

Looks to have been a great day afield, David. I find it isn't necessary to pull the trigger to have a successful hunt. Great pictures, by the way.

Good you made it out. Nice pictures and looks like very nice country to be hunting in. Good chance you will find a bear in the evening :)

Great pics ,thanks for sharing. There is something about serenity of being out in the woods,on a lake or river that refreshes the sole and makes everything right with the world.

David,

Very nice. She looks great on top of the mountain!

David what grain of bullet are you using to hunt Black Bear with? Those are great photographs of the area you are hunting in ! That rifle is mighty fine looking (y)!
Thank you for the post.

Blessings,
Dan

Thanks guys. Dan I was just using three 140 gr. Nosler AccuBond factory loads I had left out of the box of 20. I haven't ordered my dies yet. I figured that would work.

I enjoy your pictures and am happy you had such a beautiful day to enjoy.

Went out again this morning with a good friend. Never saw any bears or any sign. My buddy fixed me some breakfast at his house before we left at 0600 and as we were eating we looked out the window from his kitchen and by his pond about 100 yards from his house were 10 head of cows and calf elk! Got a good load of fir firewood so it was a good day.

Looks like the 280 carries well buddy! Hope your able to get after the Bears soon David. That M70 should do the trick.

How do you like carrying it? Looks very well balanced.

Passed through your AO on Friday, David. Tried to touch base, but darn phone wouldn't send. Hope you got out this weekend and tagged something.

Thanks Mike. Sorry I missed you! That is twice now you realize that. Maybe it's my turn to make it up your way. We have some dear friends that live in St. Paul Alberta. How far is that from you? Our friend Lisa was just diagnosed with cancer and she's only 46. They have 4 kids with one a Junior and the youngest is about 11 now I think. It doesn't sound very good for her as it's in at least three locations in her body right now. No history of cancer in the family and she is a very athletic mom that played hockey and all kinds of other sports. May be headed up that way in the not too distant future. A prayer for Rob and Lisa and their children would not hurt guys. Thanks.

I got my Redding dies today and I took and got them all cleaned up inside and out and set them up on my press so they are good to go. I then cleaned and sized the one box I've shot of factory stuff to try them out and load up. I am frothing at the bit.

David,

We're about four and a half hours (if you observe the posted speed) from St. Paul. Come on up! There's always room and the coffee is always fresh. I will pray with you for Rob and Lisa and the family.

I have a few 140 gr. and 150 gr. Partitions to play with and I just ordered some 140 gr. E-Tips from SPS Jim so that will give me some to try anyway. I'll keep looking for some 140 gr. and 150 gr. Accubonds, maybe even the 160 or 168 after I saw what yours did with IMR7828.

David that 280AI with 140gr. ABs will definitely do the trick for you.
David, I am sorry to hear about your close friends. My wife and I will place Lisa & Rob on our prayer list immediately.

Blessings,
Dan

Man, I'd love to see someone grab Jims 150 PT load. Accurate, fast and an awesome bullet for the 7mm's. I love that 150 PT in my sons 7x57. The BT shoots well as a practice bullet as well.
