first kill with accubond

1st day of PA whitetail season today and 1st chance i got to use my 308 with the accubonds i loaded up over the summer

165gr AB in front of 43.5 RL 15 one shot one kill. Shot was about 75-80 yards hit right behind the right front shoulder and exited in front of the left shoulder. nice tiny hole going in and the exit hole was roughly 31/2" the ten point took about 2 steps and drop like a brick. i dont think i have even seen that much blood from a exit wound. double lunged and took out the bottom of the heart.
would like to post a PIX but i dont know how.
this almost makes me want to pull all the partions i have for the 300WM and switch to the AB in that too.

Congratulations! It does feel good when a bullet performs as it should, and it sounds as if the .308 has accounted for a great hunt for you. Those ABs are fine bullets.

Like Guy said, well placed shot. You coulda used a spit ball at that velocity with shot placement like that and had good results. Glad to hear the Accu-bond worked well for you. CL

just got my meat back and dressed weight was 135

and he has a 16 1/2 " spread if i messured right :mrgreen:

thanks everbody to date this is my best buck.
last year i got a small 11 point that fits in side of this rack.

welp the AB's struck 2 more times in the NW PA woods.

my younger brother was holding my 308 for me with the AB's and shot and moster 8 point on monday 12-6-11
then on tuesday i shot a small doe with my 35 rem with the 200 gr hornady leverloutions and 37.5 gr of there powder

then on thursday i shot another doe with the AB's that i let a friends nephew tag because it was his last day to hunt and he had not seen a deer.
